Dr. Suzanne LeBeau
Sue LeBeau has extensive experience in online education at higher education institutions and has over 30 years of experience teaching in the elementary and middle school grades in both the regular education and gifted classrooms. She has also served as a technology advisor in several elementary schools, where she worked with students and teachers to integrate technology into the curriculum.
Sue holds a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership in Instructional Technology, a Master of Arts in Instructional Technology, a Master of Education, and a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. She is the recipient of the Teacher of the Year Award for both 1993 and 1994, is listed in Whos Who Among Americas Teachers for 1994, Whos Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges for 2002, and recipient of the Teacher Recognition Award from Johns Hopkins University for 2001. Sue is also the recipient of the Technology Fellowship: Mentoring and Modeling Program for the state of New Jersey for the 2001-2002 school year, where she trained teachers across the state to integrate technology in the classroom.
Sue is and has been an active member of many professional organizations. She is an active member and the National Liaison for the Executive Board for the New Jersey Association of Educational Technology and has been Local Leader for the National Science Teachers Association. She has been a reviewer of educational materials for the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, and the National Science Teachers Association. Sue has also served as Regional Editor for Green Teacher, an environmental magazine for teachers and has written feature articles for many professional magazines. She has written chapters in the recently published books: (1) Teaching Green: The Elementary Years (2) Teaching Green: The Middle Years (3) NETS: Multidisciplinary Units for Grades 6-8, (4) Teaching About Climate Change and (5) Through the Rainbow: Children, Science and Literature. She has been a field consultant for the NJ Council on Economic Education, and a workshop presenter for the Educational Technology Training Center for Middlesex County, for the NJ Association of Educational Technology, Brookdale and Ocean County Community Colleges (NJ), and numerous other organizations. She has been a member of the Educators Advisory Council for Jersey Central Power and Light Company and a consultant and workshop presenter for the Newspaper in Education department of the Asbury Park Press and Home News Tribune.
